THE SUMMIT CHALLENGE GUIDELINES

Participants of this summit, individual, duo, trio, or group of 5 and 10, are required to submit a preliminary project proposal outlining a project targeting a specific or a combination of their chosen SDG. In addition to explaining the project and SDG to be addressed, the proposal should outline the objectives, rationale, budget, and other practical and logistical steps that will be required to complete it.

The project proposal must be sent to summit360.sdg@gmail.com with the subject (SUMMIT360 – Project Proposal). This must be submitted on or before May 10, 2021 in a portable document format (PDF) with the file name (Summit 360_Project Title). There will be two (2) categories in choosing the top projects: (1) organizations within San Pedro College and (2) non-SPC organizations. Six (6) projects will be chosen, three (3) of each category.

In line with the summit’s goal, the project proposal making aims to produce projects that are feasible and beneficial. Participants should be able to formulate and present a project proposal within one week after the summit event. A notice will be given to the six (6) chosen proposals. The proposal is intended to be preliminary, and is not expected to necessarily have its final details. Strong proposals must contain creative and practical ideas for producing projects that will help our country and communities in achieving the global goals. In addition, it must avoid informal and vulgar themes, as well as inclusion of political biases.

The project can be done through conducting a public online event and/or community work. It should reflect on how this can mitigate rising societal problems concerning SDGs. The project will be evaluated by five evaluators according to a set of criteria (see page 3). Lastly, the delegates own the rights to the project proposals they submitted. However, by joining the Summit Challenge, they agreed that the organizers will be involved in the process of project planning and implementation.

Following are some points that must be included in the project proposal:

  1. Provide an introduction. State the name of the project, scope, and a short description of the said project.

  2. Provide a background of this project. Explain how you came up with this proposal, target SDG, and how relevant and beneficial it is to our community.

  3. Provide objectives. Explain what goals it aims to achieve after implementing the project.

  4. Provide an initial timeline. Include a detailed flow of the project implementation.

  5. Provide a proposed budget plan. It must show how and where the money will be specifically used.

The announcement of projects will be on May 14, 2021. Once selected, participants will receive financial assistance amounting ten thousand (10,000) pesos to refine and further develop the projects and to formulate workable plans for carrying them out.
